My Inspiration, BAB Edition

As promised, here are some pics of some of the natural ladies of BAB (brownandbridal.com). These ladies are truly fabulous, allowing their hair to thrive in it's natural state regardless of what others think. Allow me to introduce:
Ms. Chosen07: She chose to go natural despite what those close to her thought. Truly an inspiration!

Ms. NillePatt: Beautiful texture!

Ms. sldandridge: I wasn't even aware that she had gone natural! Simply gorgeous.

Ms. KeepUp: The bravest BAB of all. When she decided to go natural some months ago, she cut her hair off. All of it! Now look at her puff!

Ms. soon2bmrsw: The "Locstress". Gorgeous, GORGEOUS locs!!!

Apearl: Ms. Versatile! She goes from curly to straight whenever the whim hits her...

Ms. VonAngel: Here she is, in all her afro splendor after 1 year of being natural.

Ms. JenIrv: She just completed the BC(big chop) after transitioning for some time and this is the result. Beautiful!

And without further adieu, my baby girl!

Isn't all of this loveliness enough to make anyone want to transition??? *sigh* Bask in the naturalness!!! LOL

I'm going to do it.

So...after struggling with myself and my husband I've decided I'm going to start transitioning. "What does that mean?", you may ask. It means I'm going to stop putting relaxers in my hair. I'm going to allow the chemicals to "grow out" of my hair and then...maybe...cut off all of the relaxed parts of my hair so I can be completely natural. What I really wanted to do is chop it all off and start over again, but hubby definitely didn't agree with me on that one. My daughter is natural(as she should be, she's only 2) and I love her hair. I love that she loves her hair. What I have heard her say about my hair makes me definitely want to go back to natural. She thinks that mommy's "straight" hair is prettier than her hair, which is curly and thick. I encourage her all the time by letting her know that her thick, coarse, curly hair is pretty and that's how God made her hair. That means it's perfect. I've started twisting and braiding her hair as well as using accessories so she'll see how gorgeous she is, but I know by allowing myself to go back to my roots(ha ha ha...it's a pun...)she'll definitely understand that "our" hair is perfectly fine the way it is. So, that's what I'll be up to for the next 50+ years or so.

I also have to credit my BABs(www.brownandbridal.com)with inspiring me to make this decision as well. Some of the ladies on that board have the best looking hair I've ever seen-and they're natural. I would love to post their pics here, but I would need their permission first. Perhaps that will be my next post. Until then, good peoples!!!

What's Going On?

Hey there! How's it been? I know, feels like it's been forever since I actually blogged. Nothing new to report here, really. I guess since I don't feel like blogging for real I'll go ahead and post some belly pics and then go to sleep. It's like 10:39 pm here and I'm pretty sleepy. LOL
