I.Am.On.A.ROLL!

Whooooo! I've been blogging just about every day. Aren't you proud of me?!? Well, I am! I don't think I'm going to make this an electro-journal after all. Perhaps I'll just stick to the original concept of posting extremely random things, or whatever is on my mind at the time. That way, we'll get a mixed bag of stuff-not all "Oh, I'm depressed so I should tell the entire world about it" or "Hey, I'm super-oblivious to fun and I'm just faking it all"...LOL I'll get it together ya'll, I promise. So...I came here with a specific idea I wanted to post about today, but when I tried to complete my introduction I forgot what it was.

Oh yeah! I wanted to post about www.picnik.com! I loves that site! I created this today:

I just took an existing picture of my son, used sepia toning, and put a little footnote at the bottom. It's simple, but I <3 the outcome. I really want to get into being more creative with photography. I know I'll never reach a professional level, but I want to be able to use my little family as art. We'll be able to look back at some of the photos I've edited and marvel at how awesome I really am. ROFL! Toot toot...that's me tooting my non-existent horn. I'm going to go back and edit a couple of other photos...I'll be back to post them! Toodle-ooh!

Ugh!

Today was kind of rough for me. Hubbs and I had a disagreement. I handled it well, though. Normally I would of stayed there and argued, nit-picked, and sassed until an even bigger argument would start. This time, I hopped in the car and drove to my bestie's house...so I'm proud of myself for handling the situation differently. My bestie did what she does best, help me distract myself with mindless, hilarious chatter. I also saw my niece and nephew today-they're twins. They are so different from each other, like night and day. It's so wondrous to see the two of them, each of them little individuals(they're only 3.5 months). Ms. Sydney is a D-I-V-A, and Mr. Noah is just the cutest little guy you ever did see. He's so friendly and such a flirt ;o). That's what made me happy today: my bestie and her family. I would talk more about my illness and some of the things that I NEED to talk through, but I don't feel like it. I want to wallow in my contentedness(Is that a word? LOL). I suppose I can share tomorrow...

These are the heffas that make me happy:

Straight to Happy

I don't feel like journalling today, so I'll just post what has made me happy...(taken from necolebitchie.com)

I think this chick is hot fire, plus her James Brown footwork is on point. I hope to want to journal tomorrow, Lord knows I need it.

Hey guys...
It's almost 11:30pm here and I'm still up. I can't seem to get to sleep. I haven't been sleeping very well lately; I've been having nightmares and reaaaaaly weird dreams. The symptoms of depression seem to be creeping back up on me as well. I guess I'm about to hit a low. You may think this is a bad thing-and it is, but the positive is that I can recognize what's about to happen, so I can try to weather it. This is a very important point for me, as it will help me learn to cope with my illness in the best way positive. It's kind of like being on a sailboat at sea. You see a storm ahead, but instead of trying to go around it(because you can't...it's impossible) you go through it. Your safety relies on your navigational skills. You learn to roll with and occasionally fight with the waves. You learn to use a compass to determine which way to go. That's how I want it to be. That's how a "functioning depressed" person operates. This illness is something I'll have to deal with for my entire life. I may even have to be on medication for the rest of my life...that is something I'm finding hard to deal with.

I guess it's just nice to be able to write about and process how I feel. I'm hoping that this blog will help lead me to a road of recovery.
You know what I should do? I should post something that makes me happy at the end of each blog. Here goes:

Electro-journal

I figure that I'm going to use this space as a journal. Why? Because one of my issues is isolation. I've been dealing with Post-Partum Depression since the birth of my son. I've actually been diagnosed with Major Depression and Anxiety; the labels change due to the length of time you've experienced symptoms. Since it's been longer than 6 months post partum(the standard length), they went ahead and diagnosed me with the "big boy" stuff. I don't want to be a light for anyone and I'm not asking for attention. I'm doing this to help me. This illness is something I struggle with daily. The thing with me is: I wear a "Happy Face" mask so you would never know that there was something wrong with me. It's intentional as well as subconscious. I just don't want anyone to worry about how I'm doing or feeling. I prefer to stuff my feelings, meaning that I would rather internalize my feelings as opposed to sharing them in a positive manner. If I do share my feelings, it's normally not done "constructively". I just realized there are a lot of quotation marks...LOL
Anywhoo, that's enough for me. I'm actually very tired -emotionally- from even admitting that I'll do this publicly. No pictures this post...
