There is always something going on in my life...since the last time I blogged, I went into pre-term labor, been placed on restrictive activity, and have had multiple bouts of dizziness, nausea, lower back pressure, and abdominal pain. I'm just ready to have this child enter the world-by C-Section or by his own will. I don't care how, I just want it to happen soon. I haven't taken any updated belly shots, so I'll have to get that done this weekend. My hope for taking maternity photos(professional ones) has been dashed due to finances. That is okay, I'm hoping to take newborn photos, which we can make into a family photo shoot.
Enough about pregnancy!!! I finally had a random thought that I can blog about-one I could remember, anyway. Random thought of today: Dance Your A$$ Off.
There is a show on the Oxygen network called "Dance Your A$$ Off". This show entails obese contestants literally trying to dance their a$$es off by working out, dieting, learning a dance routine, and finally competing in a dance competition. Take a look here:
Now, I am ALL FOR losing weight, being healthy, changing your life for the better in order to live well. I am all for people doing whatever they feel they need to do in order to be healthy. I just can't help but feel like these people are being exploited. They have them wear tight outfits, revealing their imperfect bodies. They're dancing and rolling around all on the floor. I don't know. Maybe this show is bringing out MY insecurities. Perhaps there is nothing wrong with people of all shapes enjoying dancing and working out. I just can't support this show, and shows like this one. I don't think "Biggest Loser" is a good show, either. Sure it's done a little more tastefully than "Dance Your A$$ Off", but why can't these programs be offered to people without all of the cameras? I understand the need for profit, but at what expense? I'm rambling...I know. I don't even know if I was able to convey my random thought very well. LOL
Good night, bloggers!
